For first timers, it is essential that they are aware of the particular instrument they are looking for. It is not suggested that you pick up the first guitar that appeals to you. Be sure whether you want to buy an acoustic, classical or electric guitar. It essentially depends on the type of music you want to play. For those interested in playing with a band, an acoustic or electric guitar would suit best. For more rock oriented songs, electric guitars would be better than acoustic guitars.
